Since our new computer has arrived, I thought I would take the time to post. Between work, and being a mom there is no extra time. As most of you know... First thing is first. Our little Ella has been sick with what we thought was the flu since last Saturday. We were at Ryan and Melia's house and Ella was extra cranky. Right then I should have known there was something going on. As I was rocking her to sleep, she was making this little cries, had goose bumps; was getting hotter by the minute. Since this was the first time that Ella had been sick, I wasn't sure what to do of course. Thank heaven for my wonderful parents. Robbie and I were calling them all hours of the night Saturday, and they were so supportive. Not sure what we would have done without them.
As the week went on Ella was not getting better, and I was not comfortable not taking her to the doctor. Robbie was a good daddy and took Ella to see Dr. Patel on Tuesday afternoon. Dr. Patel said that Ella had a stomach virus and the start of what we thought was an ear infection. Little did we all know, Ella was coming down with roseolla.( I think that's how you spell it) I seriously think that every night besides last night, Robbie and I were up on the hour with a sick sick baby. We were thankful that Ella's fever broke on Tuesday afternoon. So we didn't have to add that to the mix. However, now she has this awful rash under the skin on her upper body. She even had a little bit on her face. We both feel so bad for her, knowing that there is nothing that we can do. Dr. Patel did give us some meds and let us know that we could give her Tylenol every four hours as well. So needless to say, that's what we have been doing.
Ella seems to be doing a little better today. She was happy to see her mommy today when I picked her up. The past few days she's pretty much been lifeless.. Broke our hearts to see her like that. I seriously think she was awake a total of maybe 4 hours each day. I know the best thing for her is sleep and extra loving from mommy and daddy, but it's still hard to see her like that. We took pictures of her last night to show my family, but for some reason I can't get them to upload. She has been so sick her little eyes have been all swollen and red.. Poor baby I know.
I guess on the flip side of this. Robbie and I have been blessed to have had a baby that has been healthy up until now. After 9 1/2 months of nothing it was bound to happen sometime. Were just thankful we found out what was going on, and it's not life threatening.. Gotta thank the lord for that ;-)
On the flip side of all of this. Ella has been doing fabulous. She changes more and more everyday, and becomes funnier all the time. She now is into everything, and wants to do everything that her mommy and daddy are doing. I remember holding her when she was little thinking I can't wait until she gets big enough to walk and talk.. HAHA.. Well that's just around the corner..She's pulling herself up on everything and trys to say new things everyday. Right now Ella can say momma, Dada and gigi... I love to hear her. We practice new words every night, and play hand games. Ella really likes when I hold her hands and show her my eyes, ears, nose followed by a kiss.. She thinks that is the funniest thing ever.. She crinkles her little nose and snorts.. Cracks me up every time.. I just love her to death.. I often sit back and wonder what life was like before her.. I can't even tell you.. HAHA.. It's amazing how life changes.. Babies are a true blessing..
I wish I had more pictures to post, but I only have a few. I haven't had time to pull all of them from our email yet. I will work on that and try to post more this weekend.. Post soon.. Have a great weekend ;-)
See ya tomorrow night mom and Andrea.. HAHA
