March !!!!

March 29, 2012

Wow, where as the time gone? It doesn't seem real that my maternity leave is almost over. Tomorrow is my first day back to work ;-( I'm of course excited to see everyone I work with and all my patients, but not so excited about leaving our girlies. The past 12 weeks with them have been magical, and a time that I will never forget. We have made memories, laughed together and played our little hearts out. The weather has helped in making my time with the girls even better. We have all been able to play outside, go for walk to see the ducks, and we were even able to attend Robbie's scrimmage game. Which was nice, because this time last year we had coats on.
My decision on going back to work wasn't easy, but knowing they're spoiled rotten by Robbie's mom makes it a lot easier, and I know she takes great care of them. Also, knowing that I have the option to stay home with them helps too. I told myself I would try it for a while and see how things go. I'm sure we will all be fine away from one another. It's just going to take some time adjusting to everything.
While I have been off, during nap times I have been blogging a little. I have about 5 post going. There are many of other things that I wanted to get done, and I didn't want to take time away from the girls.  So with that being said, there are posts and most important pictures coming soon. I like to blog while I'm working. For some reason it just seems to go faster. HAHA. Hope everyone is having a Happy Spring so far.

Abbi Jolee Miller

February 07, 2012
On January 17th Robbie, Ella and I were blessed to have welcomed home our healthy baby girl. Abbi Jolee Miller was born at 8:36am weighing 9lbs 110z and she was 22 1/2 in long. It was such a magical moment that I got to spend with people who are so dear to me. My parents, sisters, in laws and mamaw/ papaw were all there to welcome our new addition. ;-)
Robbie, my parents and I arrived at the hospital at 6:00 in the morning. Our whole experience went well and the doctors and staff were truly amazing. Since we had a c-section scheduled things were a little different. We were taken to a prep-op room where I was prepped for the arrival of our sweet baby girl. After four sticks they were finally able to get my IV started. Needless to say I was a hard stick the whole time I was there. I'm talking at least three sticks for every drawl. Not something I want to experience on a regular basis. At 7:50 I was taken to the operating room where my spinal was started. ( such a crazy feeling) My mom couldn't join me until I was prepped and ready to go. Before I knew it she was in there and they were calling out the time the procedure first started 8:02.
My mom and I just talked and talked until Baby Abbi's arrival. I was told that it would take about 15mins to get to Abbi. As you have already read, Abbi didn't arrive until 8:36. Dr. Myers and his team were having some issues getting Abbi out. She was a big girl, so it took them a little more time to get her out. After her delivery, Dr. Myers of course said congrats and that he needed to take a nap. HAHA. I actually had marks on my legs from where they were pulling and tugging. Which I was perfectly fine with as long as she she fine. I remember when they first showed Abbi to me. She looked just like her Daddy and I could see her red hair from across the room. OMG.. The nurses couldn't get over how big she was. They were all guessing how much she was going to weigh. So funny, and helped pass the time while they were getting me put back together.
The nurse that was with Abbi and I in the delivery room was super sweet. She was talking to Abbi like she was her own, and held Baby Abbi right by my side for about 25 minutes. ( I know it's her job, but you could tell she loved her job) This part of the delivery was so different. With Ella I didn't get to see her for the first time for about 8 hours, so with Abbi it was so sweet. I of course wanted to hold her right aways, but getting to kiss her was enough.
My recovery was awful. I was sick sick sick for the first three hours. My temp was 94.5 . My body of course thought I was hot, but I was far from it. Before I knew it, I had this darn full body heating pad for about 8 hours and vomiting. With a cold rag and sweating the whole time. ( good times) Nothing like puking up stomach acid with a sore belly. Needless to say it was awful, but I would do it all again.
At my request I only had to stay in the hospital for 2 days. I was so ready to get out of there. I'm not kidding the first night, I bet the nurse was in our room about every 30 mins all night long. I know it's just routine, but dang it was tiring. Our last nights stay was a little different. We had the same nurse, and she didn't come in unless I needed something which was great. So Abbi and I got to do a little bonding which was nice. Robbie and BIG SIS went home each evening to get some good rest. Let's face it, who sleeps well on those darn pull out beds? Ella did better about going home with just Daddy then I thought she would. There were times when she didn't want to leave, but luckily there were always guest leaving at the same time ;) So Robbie and Ella would "race" them home.
Now that we are home and have everything back to "normal" life is great. The first couple days were a little hard because Ella wanted me to hold her and let's face it this mommy was sore. She finally understood why I couldn't pick her up and was fine with just sitting with mommy and Abbi. Let's just say that most of the time I have Abbi on the left side and Ella on the right watching tv, reading or rocking the night way. Yes, at times I need about five more hands but wouldn't change it for the world.
Ella has been a great Big Sis and has become a awesome little helper. She is the little mother hen that we thought she would be. She always says " Abbi is our baby, right mama?" I of course say yes, but how cute it that? Ella loves to sing, hug and love on her sister all the time. Just to hear her talk to Abbi melts my heart. I know it's things that we say to Ella, but dang it's so cute.
Overall the four of us are doing great, and we can't imagine life without one another. Who would have thought E-harmony would have matched me with such a awesome person, that has blessed me with two healthy baby girls. I was so blessed to have found such a caring, compassionate, loving, understanding daddy and husband.

Christmas this year for us was magical, and a morning that I never want to forget. Ella of course wasn't sure about Santa, but was fond of waving at him from afar and wanted Daddy and Mommy to share her wish list. Of course Robbie and I were super excited to share everything that she wanted. ;) This year Ella wanted a sleeping baby boy, a new kitchen, food for her kitchen, barbies, and Kit. She made the nice list and Santa was blessed to have been given the opportunity to gift her ever gift that was on her list. ( Memo and Papaw's Santa brought Kit).
Ella's little face on Christmas morning was so cute. We had to wake her of course ) The first thing she wanted to know is if Santa left the light on. I guess that was her ok to get out of bed. The look on her face when she saw everything that Santa brought was worth every penny we spent. We of course wanted to make this Christmas for her one that she would never forget, since this was our last Christmas with just Ella. ;) Let's just say that Ella has played with her kitchen almost everyday and loves for Mommy to dress and undress Kit about 50 times a day. Yes it does get a little over the top sometimes, but before we know it she will be asking for money to fun with friends. ;(
Santa of course spoiled Ella rotten at my mom and dads as well as Robbie's mom and dads, oh and let's not forget the two most important people Grandma Dixie and Papaw George.
Christmas 2011 was WONDERFUL and we can't wait to see what next year brings us.

A couple weeks ago Robbie, Ella and I went to the Holiday Parade. I think the parade lasted a total of about 7 minutes, but hey we got to see Santa and that's all that matters. Ella wasn't sure what to think, but after she heard the HOHOHO she was all smiles ;-)
This year Ella wasn't big into sitting on Santa's lap, so we just waved from a distance. There's always next year right??? lol.. Hopefully next year I will be posting a picture of both our girls with Santa.

32 week appt....

It's now been 32 weeks and I haven't posted one time about our prenatal appointments. I know it's awful ;) Zoey and I are doing prefect according to Dr. Myers. He is pleased with my weight gain, B/P and the way that Zoey is growing. At our appointment on Monday we were told that I was measuring 3 weeks ahead of time and that I'm 3cm bigger with Zoey then I was with Ella. With having said this: it means that Zoey might be arriving early or that she is going to be a big baby. Of course were fine with either one, we just want a healthy baby girl. ;-)

Each day it gets more and more exciting just knowing that she is going to be here before we know it. Ella has been such a big help, and loves to kiss and hug on her sister all the time. She still says that Daddy can't hold her that she is her baby and only girls can hold her. Were hoping this will change in time. We can't wait to see what a cute BIG SISTER she is going to be and how she will handle sharing mommy with someone else. Time will only tell.

Our next appointment is next week, and hopefully they will be doing another ultrasound so we can see our sweet baby girl.;-)
